Not all heroes wear capes, and at some point in your life, you might just find yourself locked out of your home or your car. And when that happens, who are you gonna call? Surelock Homes, that’s who (also known as Gary to his friends).

Surelock Homes is run by Gary Taylorson, he offers a comprehensive range of locksmith services for both domestic and commercial clients. He also provides 24/7 emergency lockout assistance, property and vehicle entry, as well as UPVC window and door maintenance.
His services also include key cutting, with all work fully insured and guaranteed for peace of mind. Gary is DBS checked, ensuring a trustworthy service, and there are no hidden hourly rates or call-out charges, making his pricing transparent and straightforward. Whether you’re locked out or need security solutions, Surelock Homes is ready to help with professional, reliable service at any time.

Gary set up Surelock Homes in June last year, and since then, he’s been inundated with calls for aid. Having hit the age of 50, he decided it was time for a change, seeking a fresh direction in life. “My dad was a welder and an all-around handy guy, could fix anything. I used to follow him around when I was a boy, helping with his various projects. I left school and went to university, but it didn’t work out, so I came home and worked in a few jobs that never quite felt fulfilling.”
“When I hit 50, I started to really regret not having learned a trade. I didn’t want to look back in another 10 years wishing I’d done something at 50, so I decided to dive in and do it now.”
With a sense of urgency and purpose, Gary did some research, but it was only when he was watching a programme one evening where a locksmith was called that everything locked into place.

He found a course and retrained in Bury, acquiring the knowledge and skills he needed to run his own locksmithing business. “I haven’t looked back since. It’s been hard work, but it’s incredibly rewarding,” he said, with a smile.
“I get to meet new people every day and help solve problems that really matter. I never expected it to be so fulfilling.”
For Gary, the transition wasn’t easy. Starting a business in your 50’s comes with its own set of challenges, but his determination and hands-on approach have paid off. “It’s about providing a reliable, personal service, and that’s what people really appreciate,” he explained. “I’m always on the go, whether it’s helping someone get back into their home after losing their keys, sorting out window locks, or providing security advice to make sure people’s homes are safe.”
“There’s a lot of trust that comes with this job, and that means a lot to me.”
Once he was armed with the skills, knowledge and tools he was ready to start the business, but there was only one thing missing, a memorable name, thankfully, as the saying goes, behind every great man is a great woman, his wife Carmen swooped in with the idea of Surelock Homes and the rest is history!

Surelock Homes has quickly become known for its prompt and professional service, earning a loyal following. With each job, Gary’s reputation continues to grow, and he couldn’t be happier with his new path, he puts a lot of effort in to make sure he is professional, efficient and on time, “I didn’t expect to be where I am today,” he said. “It feels amazing to know I’m doing something I’m passionate about, and I’m helping people in a way I never could before.
It’s never too late to make a change, and for Gary Taylorson, that change has brought a new sense of purpose and satisfaction. Surelock Homes might just be the key to a fresh start, proving that it’s never too late to unlock a new chapter in life.
