Step into the New Year with a challenge and bag yourself a PAWsome medal!
Oak Tree Animals’ Charity have re-launched their popular challenge in January. Steps for Pets January 2023 is a fun way to support vulnerable animals in the local community whilst burning off those Christmas calories and blowing away the cobwebs!
The challenge is simple, take 55,000 steps (or 26.2 miles) throughout the month of January and get your paws on a shiny new medal! Track your progress with the PAWsome printable tracker and join the community Facebook group for tips, motivation and updates from other participants (and their furry friends!).

Anyone can take part, if you take at least 1,774 steps a day you’ll have completed the challenge by the 31st! Sign up for £15 and get your winter woollies at the ready! There’s a limited number of places, don’t miss out and sign up today!
Cathrene Mieras, the Event Fundraiser, says “I can’t wait to take on the challenge myself with my dog, Digby! During the winter months it is often hard to find the motivation to get outside for some fresh air, having a challenge to complete alongside the supportive community of participants makes it easier and more fun! The importance of daily movement and getting outdoors is so beneficial for mental health and this challenge can be completed by anyone – you’ll be surprised at how achievable it is just taking a few steps every day!”

Aside from feeling accomplished and earning a shiny medal, each step you take will be helping vulnerable animals this winter, as 100% of the profits will go directly to Oak Tree Animals’ Charity, which is based at Oak Tree Farm, Wetheral Shields, Carlisle.
