Rocket Theatre Group Carlisle presents: The Hunchback of Notre Dame Live at Stanwix Theatre, Carlisle – This Weekend!
Based on Victor Hugo’s classic novel and featuring songs from the beloved Disney animated film, The Hunchback of Notre Dame brings the powerful story of love, acceptance, and courage to the stage. With a sweeping, Academy Award-nominated score by Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz, this adaptation also features new songs and a compelling book by Peter Parnell, incorporating passages straight from Hugo’s gothic masterpiece.
As the bells of Notre Dame ring through 15th-century Paris, Quasimodo—the deformed bell-ringer—longs to be “Out There” among the people. Escaping the confines of the cathedral and his ruthless caretaker, Dom Claude Frollo, Quasimodo finds brief joy at the Feast of Fools before facing cruelty from the crowd. Only Esmeralda, a compassionate and free-spirited Romani woman, shows him kindness. But she soon finds herself at the center of a dangerous love triangle involving Quasimodo, the charming Captain Phoebus, and the obsessed Frollo—who sets out to destroy her people.
With stunning music, heart-stirring drama, and a message that still resonates today, this is a show not to be missed.
Performances this weekend at Stanwix Theatre, Carlisle.
Come and be transported by this timeless tale of hope, justice, and humanity.
