We know, the kids are off again and trying to find ways to entertain them and keep them busy is a challenge, but there is plenty to do and it doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg. From meeting Santa to discovering our local sea life there are lots of fun activities and places to take them this Winter.
The Beacon – Whitehaven
Every weekend from November 27th 10am-3.45pm.
Join the Beacon this Christmas season for their Christmas workshops. Santa will be there in his grotto and there will also be a Scrooge trail that goes all around the museum. Children will also have an opportunity to make their own Georgian Christmas Cards or write and post a letter to santa.

Wooly farm
Every weekend from 1st weekend in Dec from 16th -23 every day
The Woolly farm is doing something special this Christmas. Their barn will be adorned with Christmas decorations where children can write their own letter to Santa and post it in the magic post box. After this take a stroll through the christmas woodland, lit up with colourful lights and decorations and at the end meet the Alpacas. The Alpacas will walk with you to meet Santa who will be waiting with gifts to give out to all the good boys and girls.

Lake District Coast Aquarium
The aquarium is always a hit with the kids and it makes for a wonderful day out. Take the children to discover life under the sea. With plenty to see and learn, The Lakes Aquarium is the perfect way to spend a windy winter’s day. Learn about our local sea life and meet some weird and wonderful creatures.

The Brickstation
Carlisle
If there is one thing that kids (and adults) love its Lego. At the Brickstation they have infinite Lego. This Christmas holidays The Brickstation are offering kids the opportunity to build their own christmas decorations and ornaments. Get your building hat on and come see what you can create!

The Rum Story
Whitehaven
Take a journey through Whitehaven’s infamous past. Enter the rainforest and discover the industry the town was built on. The Rum Story is the ideal way to get the kids away from the screen and have some fun whilst also learning about the history of where they live.
