The Queens at Warwick on Eden is a family friendly pub that pride themselves on their locally produced food, their relaxed atmosphere and their community driven ethos.

Based just outside Carlisle, a couple of minutes from the M6 they have loads to offer. From their traditional menu of homemade dishes using locally sourced seasonal ingredients to their variety of drinks including cask ales, premium draught and spirits, cocktails and hot drinks.
The pub was taken over by Tim and Mike in 2023, He said: “We took the establishment on in May last year, over the years it has moved through several hands but we are focussed on making sure that the pub experiences a long period of stability and development.”
If you are looking for somewhere to eat that serves up delicious traditional meals such as fish and chips, homemade pie and burgers as well as exceptional specials, using fresh locally sourced ingredients then The Queens is perfect for you, Tim said:
“All our food is freshly prepared in-house. We have some fantastic links with local suppliers including Steven Wilsons butchers, Warwick Bridge Corn Mill and Bells Fishmongers, to name a few.”
Their menus are based on the seasons and the availability of quality produce. Their sunday lunch really is something special, they have several options with beef being a regular fixture they also offer a variety of other meats such as Ham, Pork, Lamb, Chicken and sometimes even pheasant – they have two or three roast options to choose from each week!
Aswell as their excellent food The Queens has also become a bit of a community hub, Tim explained: “We endeavour to be a central part of the local community and we already host the local WI darts practise on a weekly basis and their semi-regular chapter meetings. We also host The Cumberland Show organiser’s monthly meeting. We have a ‘Knit and natter’ for some of the locals every Monday.”
“It is important to us that we are involved in and add to our local community. We have several events planned for the year ranging from regular live music to weekend long beer festivals. We also have several food focused events planned to include wine tasting evenings and Beaujolais Day celebrations.”
The establishment is fantastic for families with an excellent children’s menu and even an outdoor play area located at the bottom of the beer garden, meaning mum and dad can relax while the kids play away. The beer garden is arguably one of the best in the area, a south facing suntrap, it’s the ideal place to soak up some of that springtime sunshine!
If you are looking for somewhere to stay then one of their five recently refurbished en-suite rooms could offer you the getaway you’re looking for. They’re also dog friendly throughout the pub and rooms so no need to leave the pooch at home.
They have a few events lined up for the year ahead including a Live Music event on May 31st.
