Dig out your dancing shoes and pour yourself a glass of Red Red Wine (sorry) as UB40 are coming to Carlisle.

The British reggae legends will be playing their classic mix of reggae pop fusion at the city’s Sands Centre on October 5.

The Brummy band who formed in 1978 became one of Britain’s best-selling musical exports in the 1980’s and 90’s. Notching up over forty UK top 40 singles and selling over 100 million records worldwide. Although the band are perhaps best known for their hit songs including the aforementioned: Red Red Wine, I Got You Babe and Can’t Help Falling in Love the nine-strong ensemble have been recording new music up until as recently as 2013.

Although known for their heavy use of political and social undertones in many of their songs and named after unemployment benefit form UB40, the band don’t let the seriousness of some of their messages get in the way of a good time with their goodtime reggae beats set to send the crowd swaying.
