FROM BIN TO BLOOM: West Coast Composting are Cumbria’s compost experts!
Give your garden a bit of TLC this Spring.
by Danni Murphy
Bring your garden to life this spring with nutrient-rich compost, responsibly sourced wood fuels, and plenty of expert guidance.
As the first shoots of spring begin to appear, there is no better time to turn your attention to the garden. Whether you are planning to sow seeds, nurture vegetables, or refresh flower beds, the right compost and soil improver can make all the difference. Based in the heart of Whitehaven, West Coast Composting has been helping Cumbria’s gardens flourish and providing renewable fuels since 2008.
Owners Tim and Tracy West, with years of agriculture experience and horticultural knowledge, lead a dedicated team producing top-quality compost from locally sourced green waste. Much of this comes from Copeland’s brown bin collections and from garden contractors across Cumbria. The green waste is carefully sorted by hand, shredded, and processed in Windrows for over eight weeks, allowing heat to naturally kill weeds and bacteria. The finished compost is mechanically screened to ensure it is of the highest standard, ready to give your garden a springtime boost.
