Peter Tyson Launches Cumbria Inspired Hi-Fi Brand ‘Fell Audio’
For almost 50 years Peter Tyson has made a name for itself as a family-owned, Cumbria-based company dealing in quality TV, hi-fi, home cinema and appliances.
Now, after years of development Peter Tyson is bringing its own Cumbria inspired brand of home stereo to market. Introducing Fell Audio – made in Britain and inspired by the lakes and mountains of the Cumbrian landscape.
Fell Audio is set to shake up the hi-fi industry by taking on some of the world’s largest manufacturing heavyweights.
Luke Tyson who led the project says:
“Fell Audio is truly a passion project for us. After selling stereo systems through our stores for decades, it became clear that great-sounding hi-fi at an affordable price is no longer being made here in the UK. We wanted to change that and offer people something British-built to start their hi-fi journey with. We’re so proud of the results.”
Fell Audio will launch the brand with a stereo Amplifier (just add speakers) and a matching CD Player, with a streamer unit following in 2025. The units have a retro-modern aesthetic, inspired by the ‘golden era’ vintage hi-fi of the 1970s, but with modern touches, clean lines and capacitive-touch front panels.
The Fell Amp features plug and play connectivity for turntables, Bluetooth convenience for music streaming, plus headphone outputs for late-night and personal listening.
Luke: “We worked closely with our manufacturing partners to produce something that was modern, great sounding, long lasting and affordable. Importantly we also created products and packaging that are sustainable.”
Fell Audio doesn’t just represent the lakes and mountains of the natural world, it seeks to protect them. Each product is built with repairability and sustainability in mind. Everything about the packaging is either made from recycled material, or can be recycled again, even the ink is earth friendly.
Most components are sourced from the UK to reduce air miles, and the products have been designed to be repairable in the unlikely event a fix is needed. What’s more, Fell Audio looks cool and they’re affordable, whilst delivering an incredible audio experience.
Fell Audio ushers in a new chapter in the Peter Tyson story, the business’s passion for audio and its heritage as a Cumbrian retailer.
Cumbrians and anyone across the UK can now own a piece of unique Carlisle born and British made hi-fi and have a hint of the grand old fells of the Lake District in their home when listening to their favourite music.
