Made in Allithwaite!
Made in Allithwaite began as an “open house” in December 2017 as a festive event to bring the village of Allithwaite together and showcase arts and crafts created by residents.
Held at Fran Browns house the first week-end long event was a huge success and formed the basis for further events led by founders Fran, Angela Pollard and Sonja Vietoris.
The initial aims were to bring something new to the village and enable and encourage people to make art as well as develop new networks around the community. Made in Allithwaite has grown in numbers over the years and now holds up to four events a year.
Held in two alternating venues in the village we have a glass maker, bespoke jeweller, florist, journal maker/bookbinder, painter, fragrances and ceramics and amazing knitted fashion and tote bags amongst others. Its special because our venues are two of our homes which we clear out to create an intimate space to see amazing work.
We also sell home made biscuits and cakes as well as teas and coffee. Its amazing that such a small village has so many creative folk.
Our next event is planned for August 24th 2024 at The Square, Allithwaite, Grange over Sand
