Hear Ye, Hear Ye! Medieval Madness is in Full Swing at Muncaster Castle

This year’s Medieval Muncaster festival is well underway, and the medieval mayhem continues for the rest of the week.

Across the bank holiday weekend, more than 2,000 people were transported back in time for a day of battles, warrior training, fool’s shows, music, and more. With five days still remaining in the festival — and sunny weather set to continue — it is truly shaping up to be one for the history books.

The festival has seen Muncaster decked out in full medieval regalia, complete with a Viking encampment, a 15th-century village, and more than 100 flags flying across the castle and gardens. Most importantly of all, the Pennington flag has once again returned to pride of place at the top of the castle.

Operations Manager Luke Woods says, “Medieval Muncaster is the highlight of the year for me. I love the buzz around the site. My favourite part of the day has to be the Barbaric Battles™ — equipping hundreds of children with foam swords and shields and having them face off against the adults creates so much beautiful chaos.”

Join us from now until Sunday 31 May for medieval madness at Muncaster!
