Half Term Activities at the Beacon Museum
This half term, the Beacon Museum will be celebrating cultural heritage in a number of ways.
In the centenary year of women’s suffrage, Celebrating Women of Cumbria is a county wide series of exhibitions that puts women that have shaped our history back into the spotlight. Our local hero is medical pioneer Dame Edith Mary Brown, who started her own medical school in India during the Victorian era, saving millions of lives in the process.
Visitors to the museum can take part as well, with Banner Making workshops taking place daily at 1pm over the half term break. Create your own important message and add it to our display at the museum. Pick a theme important to you.
We will then be looking Eastwards as the Chinese New Year gets underway. Visitors can create their own bespoke mask or lantern to celebrate the year of the dog! 11am each day and includes fun Chinese activities.
