From lively carnivals to music filled festivals, there is plenty happening in the coming months.

Here is a round up of some fantastic local events to get in your diary;


16th May, 2026

Off To The Local – Whitehaven

Kicking things off is Off To The Local, a unique town-wide music event brought to you by Off The Pier.

This free event transforms Whitehaven into a live music trail, with performances taking place across a wide range of local pubs and venues from afternoon through to the evening. There is no wristband required, just choose your venue and enjoy the atmosphere.

Venues taking part include The Yellow Earl, Shipwrights, Stock Exchange, The Puncheon, Whittington Cat, Barra Jacks, The Navigator, The Royal Standard, Anchor Vaults, Twisted Tongue and Snecklifter.

Additional venues include Soundwave and Colours Cafe, while King Street will come alive with stalls from TEG Retail Markets.

Whether you plan to follow your favourite acts or simply move from venue to venue discovering new music, the event is all about celebrating local talent, supporting local businesses and enjoying the strong community spirit that makes Whitehaven special.

Show and Tell – Carlisle Bitts Park

Next up is Show and Tell 2026, a vibrant free community event bringing together the very best of Carlisle.

Expect a full day of live music, local organisations and activities for all ages. With community groups, stalls and performances throughout the day, it is a perfect opportunity to connect, explore and enjoy time with friends and family. Entry Completely FREE

23rd – 25th May, 2026

Silloth Green Day

Another highlight of the summer is the much loved Silloth Green Day, a fantastic family friendly event by the seaside.

Known for its welcoming atmosphere and variety of activities, this annual celebration offers something for everyone. From live music and lively Green Day entertainment, it is a brilliant way to spend time with family and friends. With a funfair, stalls a family dog show and kids entertainment its the perfect day out.

It is one of the standout community events of the year and well worth attending.

19th June, 2026

Oasish – Solway Hall, Whitehaven

West Coast events presents a huge event headed to the Solway Hall in Whitehaven.

Taking to the stage is Oasish, the UK’s No.1 Oasis tribute, bringing all the anthems and attitude you would expect. They are joined by Stereotonics, delivering the unmistakable sound of Stereophonics, alongside Antics, an indie band from Carlisle adding their own energy to the night.

This is set to be a full night of live music in one of Whitehaven’s key venues, bringing together tribute favourites and local talent for a great atmosphere from start to finish.

2nd – 5th July, 2026

Cockermouth Live

Returning for its 17th year, Cockermouth Live continues to be one of the area’s most exciting summer festivals.

Built around community spirit and a love of music, the festival offers a mix of free performances and ticketed headline events. Across the weekend, you will find hundreds of musicians performing in venues throughout the town, from pubs and cafés to theatres and historic locations.

The festival is driven by a passionate team of volunteers and aims to support local performers including young and first time artists create diverse musical and cultural experience.
