There is a ‘zodiac trail’ – children can explore the museum’s four floors of fun, finding characters along the way to receive a certificate.

There will also be some fantastic Chinese New Year-themed crafts. Visitors can make a Year of the Tiger mask, a Chinese fan or an origami tiger to take home. All activities are included in the entry fee.

This is in addition to the Beacon Museum’s everyday offering of history, art, science and lots of interactive exhibits.

The Chinese New Year activities run throughout the half term from February 12 to 20. The Beacon Museum is open from 10am until 4.30pm every day during half term. No booking is necessary.

Tickets for the museum can be bought through the website

Admission is £7 for adults, £5.50 for concessions, £3.50 for children and under-threes go free. A family ticket is available at £17.50 for two adults and two children.
