Whitehaven 2025 – Robots, Tall Ships & International Chart-toppers…

by Stephen Murphy

Well, someone has been busy, and it looks like Whitehaven will be a hive of activity in 2025.

The team at Whitehaven Town Council has been working non-stop since their last event—the spectacular Firework Display on the harbourside —planning a packed lineup of events for the year ahead.

And they aren’t the only ones who have been busy.

The Harbour Commissioners, Team Rosehill, The Beacon Crew, Soundwave, The Pride Team, and Florence Mine will all be throwing their events into the mix, all making the best use of the town and the harbourside to bring a feast of colour, entertainment, and creativity to Whitehaven.

It is so awesome to see so many different organizations working seamlessly alongside each other. No drama, no egos, just lots of people all moving in the same direction, all for the good of the town.

Whitehaven Town Council has organised a host of events including VE Day 80th Celebrations, a science show in St Nicholas Gardens, a visit of a Tall Ship in the summer, the Flower and Veg Show returns in September, and a Robots and Sci-Fi Exhibition will be held later in the year.

The first big event of the year will see the return of the Leyland Bus Show; expect dozens of vintage buses and explore the area via their bus tours.

The continental markets will be back in the summer, always a crowd pleaser, bringing a wide and varied choice of food that goes down well.

Pride by the Harbourside returns and looks set to be bigger and better but who will be stealing the limelight this year? Another brilliant fun family-friendly event which was outstanding last year. Watch this space as details will be announced soon. Follow their socials and be the first to find out.

To finish the summer season on a high, the ever-popular and ever-growing Harbour Fest will roll out across the harbour and the town. Last year was awesome; so many organisations came together and all brought their own sprinkling of magic to make for one of the best family events of the year. We can’t wait to see what they have lined up for 2025.
