Smiles all round at Devonshire House

Devonshire House has been fixing smiles for 70 years now, and with modern technological advancements, dentures are no longer a thing to be feared.

Paul Walkington has been running Devonshire House in Carlisle for 15 years. They operate as clinical dental technicians and strive to offer their clients the best quality dentures, both aesthetically and in comfort.

Using new-age technology alongside pure craftsmanship, Paul and his team are now able to create a digital image of the client’s mouth, create a model for a denture, and then 3D print the finished product all in-house.

“It’s all very sci-fi and quite eye-opening when you see what goes on behind the scenes.”

Paul said, “I’ve been doing this for 18 years now, and the one thing I have found is that dentures are not exclusive to the older generation. We have many younger people coming to us after losing teeth, either through an accident or other causes, and often they are very nervous and anxious.

We are a friendly and compassionate team who are here to help, and we will do our utmost to make each client feel comfortable throughout the whole process.”

Although they are now moving towards more advanced techniques such as CAD Design and 3D printing, Paul and his team still do much of the work by hand and in-house, from the initial moulds to the actual assembly of the denture. It’s all done exclusively by the Devonshire House team.

There are various options to choose from when looking for a denture, which are all discussed during the client’s first consultation. Paul said,

“We do a variety of denture plates, from partial to full, depending on the client’s requirements. We offer a free initial consultation, which allows us to assess and discuss the best options for each client. Whether you need one tooth or three, we can help with anything needed ”

The whole process takes at most six weeks from initial consultation to final fitting, and the client will have multiple appointments during this time to ensure they are getting the absolute best fit for their needs.

As well as creating and fitting dentures, Devonshire House also offers a repair service. Paul said: “Many people get a crack or broken denture and think well, that’s it finished, or they’ll try to glue it themselves. We would urge anyone not to glue their dentures themselves; we provide a repair service by which you can bring them into us, and we can usually perform a repair within a day or two!”

If you have been considering a denture or looking to find one that fits just right, then either pop in or give Devonshire House a call; their friendly team will endeavour to leave you smiling once again!

Devonshire House are currently looking for more enthusiastic people to join their growing team.
