‘Reach Out’ Health and Wellbeing Event heads to Workington

Workington Town Council is holding a free health and wellbeing ‘Reach Out’ event in Vulcan Park on Saturday 14th May from 11:00am to 4:00pm.
Supported by The National Lottery Community Fund, ‘Reach Out’ coincides with Mental Health Awareness week and will bring together businesses, charities, organisations and individuals who all have something to offer in terms of mental health awareness and help, support and guidance.
At the event, people can visit a wide range of stalls, including Pet Encounter Cumbria’s cute critters, Grow Well’s soothing garden therapy, the Rainbow Wishes Foundation and cooking demos with Helen’s Herbs.
There will also be workshops, including yoga for adults and toddlers and Tibetan and crystal bowls with Indigo Moon, mindful meditation and craft therapy with Lotus Holistic Therapies, and mindfulness taster sessions with Mindfulness in the Lakes.
People are requested to book a place on the workshop or workshops of their choice in advance by visiting the Visit Workington website’s ‘Reach Out’ event page.
As last year’s Yarn Bomb was such a success, the council is inviting keen knitters to create bigger and better wooly creations this year, in aid of mental health awareness. For more information on the Yarn Bomb please email [email protected] or call 01900 702986.
A spokesperson for Workington Town Council said, “We are very excited about our upcoming ‘Reach Out’ mental health event and want to thank The National Lottery Community Fund for supporting it. We hope that those who visit benefit from the health and wellbeing activities on offer and would remind them to book their workshop spots in advance by visiting our Visit Workington website.”
