We are a unique gift shop offering the best in unusual gifts for you and your home. We have a section for babies and little ones, a Home section as well as gorgeous gifts from designers including Cath Kidston, Emma Bridgewater, Pip Studio and Ness as well as Caroline Gardner, Le Toy Van, Rosie Fox and many more.
We also have many products produced in Cumbria including beautiful jewellery made in Carlisle, gorgeous handmade soaps and candles from near Penrith and the Herdy range of gifts from Kendal. Our aim is to offer something new and different and where ever we can keep it local.

Our first shop was a tiny shop in Stanwix, Carlisle called Give it Gifts (thought up by our son Joe). We are a family business, we care.
We soon realised that we were going to need something bigger! We found a lovely shop in the market town of Brampton, where we stayed for a couple of years before we took the plunge and moved to the centre of Carlisle.
Why Ashbridge & Brown ? No, It’s not our names, our names just didnt work. Ashbridge & Brown are Jayne’s Grandmothers maiden names, Cumbrian names, Carlisle names.
Our aim was to provide quality gifts and accessories for you and your home that you couldn’t get in Carlisle. The shop has a vintage feel and is set in a most wonderful Georgian building in a fantastic courtyard with a few other independent cafes and small businesses.
We are situated in the Historic Quarter of the City of Carlisle and boy has Carlisle got some history ! We are a stones throw away from the Cathedral and the Castle and set right in the heart of the city centre itself

Monday to Saturday 9.30am – 4.30pm
and at Christmas we open on Sundays 11am – 4pm (Nov & Dec)
