2018 Season Launch at Theatre by the Lake
2018 is Conrad’s second year at TBTL, following a summer of critically acclaimed shows. As You Like It is on a national tour until 9 December and Miss Julie transferred to Jermyn Street Theatre in London’s West End where it runs until 2 December. The show recently garnered four and five star reviews from the Evening Standard, The Times and The Guardian, alongside four nominations in the Off West End awards for Best Director for Tom Littler, Best Actress (for Charlotte Hamblin as Miss Julie), Best Actor (for James Sheldon as Jean) and Best Set Designer for Louie Whitemore.
“Following my first year at Theatre by the Lake I’m really excited to announce our plans for next year. It’s an honour to programme work for such a unique venue which is so well supported by its community and I look forward to building on the successes we’ve had in 2017. We’d like to welcome everyone to the event and to join us for refreshments afterwards – it would be great to hear your thoughts on our upcoming programme and response to this year’s work. Thank you as ever for your support.”
Conrad will give details of nine productions in spring and summer, plus a Christmas play for all the family, and will also announce some exciting plans for the year.
Kay Dunbar of Ways With Words will also be on stage to reveal the programme for Words by the Water, the hugely popular Festival of Words and Ideas held annually at Theatre by the Lake. It runs from 9 – 18 March in 2018 with a line-up of big-name authors.
The theatre looks forward to welcoming members of the community to hear about the coming year’s events. The event is free and there is no need to book a ticket – just turn up on the day.
