Did you catch the Launch of ‘Together for Good’ in April? A brand new platform to drive social impact across West Cumberland, which aims to connect non-profit organisations with businesses and volunteers in our local communities across West Cumberland, helping all to work together for the greater good of our communities.
Sellafield Ltd and its suppliers are committed to building more resilient and thriving communities, and this platform will help to maximise the use of volunteers and enable businesses to monitor their impact. Even if a business is not linked to Sellafield, all companies are encouraged to join up and help make a difference, for themselves and their local communities.

What is it, and how does it work?
In plain English, social impact is about businesses that work in our area making a real positive difference in our communities. It is at the heart of many businesses that work specifically in our nuclear sector, and all told, it is encouraged for all businesses to engage and make positive changes to a wider audience so we all benefit.
Social Value!
What is it, and why does it matter?
Social value is about companies creating and making decisions that are not fixated on profits but on lives, lifestyles, and communities, building a legacy of positivity from which we all benefit.
The platform, ‘Together for Good’ provides a central hub where businesses looking to deliver social value can connect with organisations in need of support and skills, as well as individuals eager to volunteer their time and expertise.

Key features of the “Together for Good” platform include:

- Support for Organisations: The platform connects Non-profits, charities, and community organisations, who can then access a wide range of support, skills, and resources to amplify their impact and drive positive change in the community.
- Volunteer Opportunities: The platform enables individuals passionate about making a difference, discover volunteer opportunities across various causes and projects, enabling them to contribute their time and expertise towards building a better future.
In addition to the web platform, “Together for Good” has launched a mobile app, providing users with convenient access to opportunities and notifications on the go.
The platform has been funded through Sellafield SiX and is free to use, making it accessible to all.
