Quirky Eclectica – Bringing Cumbrian Creatives Together

Quirky Eclectica is a collective of local Cumbrian Artisan Crafters and Creatives.

The concept for Quirky Eclectica came together after two such creatives – Tracey and Ashley – held a pop-up shop together, and from there they decided to bring other local creatives together and thus Quirky Eclectica was born.

Tracey Lindsay who runs ‘Manor Barn Organics’ said: “We both really enjoyed working alongside each other and thought it would be nice to bring other Cumbrian creatives like ourselves together and give them a bit of a platform to showcase their wares.

Since then the ball has just been rolling and we now have lots of events lined up throughout the remainder of the year.”

‘Manor Barn Organics’ is an aromatherapy company which offers aromatherapy treatments, workshops and natural, organic, vegan-friendly and hand-made products which are all made right here in Cumbria. Ashley’s company ‘All Things Nice by Ashley’ sees Ashley make beautiful, unique resin gifts, accessories and jewellery.

Quirky Eclectica is about celebrating all things unique and handmade in Cumbria.

The girls recently approached Carlisle City Council with the idea of bringing their Creative and Quirky traders to the town centre regularly and after talks and discussions, they were permitted to hold several Artisan Craft Fairs throughout the year – right in the heart of the city centre.

Tracy explained: “We are absolutely delighted and will be holding an Artisan Craft Fair every third Saturday of the month just outside Carlisle Tourist Information.

We are expecting around 20 stall holders for our inaugural event on September 17th, but that will no doubt grow over time.

We can’t thank Carlisle City Council enough for their support, help and advice in helping us help lots of other creatives in the City and across the county to showcase their wares and goods, it has been all so amazing.

Our Quirky Eclectica stall-holders will showcase artisanal food, ceramics, photographers, jewellery makers and anything you can think of that is hand-made! The majority of the stall holders are all creatives from Cumbria, with a couple of others from just over the border. So do come along to our first Artisan Craft Fair on September 17th, we would love to see you”

As well as their monthly Artisan Craft Fairs, they are also hosting their Quirky Christmas Artisanal Christmas Fayre at the Crown & Mitre Hotel on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th of November.

These fairs are a fantastic opportunity for local makers to showcase their products as well as for shoppers who are maybe looking to buy unique, one-of-a-kind gifts this Christmas!
