Local Girl to star in ‘Giant Role’ this Christmas

LOCAL GIRL TO STAR IN ‘GIANT’ ROLE THIS CHRISTMAS

After the successes of the local search for a star of the last few years, The Sands Centre are proud to announce that local rising star Sarah Hughes has been cast as this year’s leading lady!

Former Austin Friars student Sarah Hughes is nineteen years old and from Carlisle. She is currently going into her second year of training at Italia Conti Academy of Performing Arts. Sarah said “I’ve always loved performing on The Sands Centre stage and up until I moved to London have always taken part in my local stage school’s productions”. A former StagedRight pupil, she is familiar with performing at The Sands Centre however, she looks forward to making her professional debut on “…the stage that feels most like home.”

Sarah will be taking the limelight as Jill this December with several household names including George Sampson as Jack, Andy Abraham as Fleshcreep, Gabrielle Green as The Good Fairy, Robbie Dee as Dame Trott & Dean Winters as Simple Simon. Sarah is “..thrilled to be working with George and the rest of the cast and hope that they can share with me their knowledge of the industry but, more importantly, have lots of fun!”

Sarah said that on finding out that she had the role her family was “ecstatic” and Sarah personally thinks “Christmas can’t come quick enough so I can be a part of what is going to be an amazing show.”

Join Jack for an amazing adventure this Christmas as he climbs into the magical world of castles and giants in the sky! With a handful of magic beans and the help of the good fairy, Jack will be transported to a magical new kingdom where he will finally be able to help his poor mother, Dame Trott ,and win the heart of his beloved Jill! But will he be able to make it back before the giant and his henchman, Fleshcreep, catch him?  With a live band, fantastic choreography and amazing special effects come and enjoy the region’s biggest pantomime.
