St Bees Little Learners

St Bees Little Learners Nursery open 50 weeks a year, 5 days a week, 7.30am – 6.30pm, taking babies to 4 years old.

Little Learners  aim to create a friendly homely environment for your child with lots of opportunity to learn through play, within the guidelines laid down by Ofsted.

The nursery cares for children from birth to 5years, and is registered with Ofsted. Little Learners aim to give parents the chance to balance family life and work responsibilities.

Their experienced and qualified team of staff who are all DBS checked will give your child the highest quality of care throughout the day and will regularly record your child’s progress and development. They offer you child the opportunity to acquire skills, learn to communicate, gain confidence and to
have fun.

Little Learners aims and objectives are to:

• provide high quality care and education for children below statutory school age;
• provide a safe and stimulating environment in which children feel happy and secure;
• work in partnership with parents to help children to learn and develop;
• encourage the emotional, social, physical, creative and intellectual development of the children;
• encourage positive attitudes to self and others and develop confidence and self-esteem’
• create opportunities for play
• encourage children to explore the world
• provide opportunities to stimulate interest and imagination
• extend the children’s abilities to communicate ideas and feelings in a variety of ways
• add to the life and well-being of the local community; and
• offer children and their parents a service that promotes equality and values diversity.

Playtime

When children are asked “What were you doing at nursery today?” often the reply is “I was playing!” That is exactly what the children have been doing. However, there is more to play than meets the eye!

Play is natural to the children and is the means by which they learn.

Through play children learn new skills, develop new interests and encounter new experiences.

The Nursery are/have:

• Open 7.30am – 6.30pm
• Open 5 days a week
• Open 50 weeks of the year
• Enclosed outdoor play area
• Separate baby room
• Trips to the beach
• Breakfast and after schoolclub
• Experienced staff
• Based in St Bees Public School buildings

Funded places for eligible 2 year olds and ALL 3/4 year olds – 15 or 30 hours funding. Qualified Teacher leading the setting.
