ST BEES SCHOOL COVETED SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN
Applications are open for St Bees School’s Sixth Form Scholarship for the 2023-2024 school year.
It offers an impressive up to 100% fee remission for UK boarding students, applicable for every year the student attends St Bees. This award is highly contested, with applicants assessed on the key character traits– teamwork, leadership, confidence, empathy, resilience creativity, personal organisation and many more.
St Bees offers a one-of-a-kind level of schooling within West Cumbria. Small, bespoke, ‘made-to-measure’ education underpins the schools’ ethos, where every child is an individual and every child succeeds, reaching beyond their potential. .
This scholarship is for extremely academic students and the discount covers full tuition and boarding – a comfortable single room in our fantastic boarding house – home to 56 students, half from the UK and half from 13+ different countries all over the world.
The motto, “work hard, play hard,” is particularly prevalent in the Sixth Form, with a fantastic cohort of students.
In Sixth Form, students choose three subjects from Maths, Further Maths, Art, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Economics, History, English Literature and Geography.
Students also conduct a research project (the International Project Qualification – IPQ – highly sought after by universities), in which they focus on any topic of interest – and so this could easily combine their passions or be something related to what they would like to study at University.
Headmaster, Robin Silk is thrilled to be offering the scholarship for the third year running.
“St Bees has a unique ability to find and encourage the aspirations within an individual. Every year, we have some incredible applicants for the Sixth Form Scholarship and it is wonderful to see so many bright, enthusiastic individuals who are prepared to do all it takes to be successful.”
Head of Admissions, Ceara Fisher reaffirms, “These scholarships recognise the talents and achievements of those who might not consider St Bees as an option – and that is exciting. We want to reward those who encompass everything it means to be a St Bees student – balancing academics and character and being determined to be the best that they can be.”
