SUMMARY:West Cumberland Choral - A Howard Goodall Evening
DESCRIPTION:The West Cumberland Choral Society join us for an evening of Howard Goodall including Eternal Light : A Requiem and Psalm 23. \nThe West Cumberland Choral Society has around 50 members from the Workington and Seascale areas as well as Whitehaven. The Society was formed almost 50 years ago from the Lowther Street Methodist church choir. In 2009 ex-Director of Music for St Bees School Hugh Turpin took up the baton as Director of Music\, and Frank Bowler\, also organist at St Bees Priory Church\, the role of accompanist. \nDistinguished broadcaster and award-winning composer of choral music\, musicals\, TV and film scores\, Howard Goodall has been England’s first ever National Ambassador for Singing\, won Composer of the Year at the Classical Brit Awards and for 6 years was Classic FM’s Composer-in-Residence.
