DESCRIPTION:A trio of Cumbrian bands take to the stage in Egremont for Florence Arts Centre’s latest live music night. \nThe West Cumbrian live music scene has another night of live music on the cards when Egremont’s Florence Arts Centre hosts a trio of bands on 25 November. \nKicking off with an acoustic set from local boys Rogues\, the evening also boasts a set from Workington’s pop-punk outfit Youth Salute and a headline appearance by South Cumbrian rising stars Wolfpeake. \nYouth Salute \nFlorence manager Craig Carruthers says\, “I’ve been looking to host more full-on band nights at FAC for a while after packed nights for The Northern Threads and Flo Fest this summer. We’ve got a great space for staying up late and I’m really looking forward to getting three top bands together to show what a great venue for live music we’ve got here. This is one of the best line-ups we’ve ever had!” \nRogues first played the venue at a charity gig earlier this year and are a welcome addition to the bill\, with an acoustic set to start the night. Youth Salute\, whose latest single Bore was released in the summer have been picking up new fans with gigs across the North but this is their first time at FAC. \nHeadliners Wolfpeake are an ambitious young rock band formed this year by members of previous touring acts with years of gigs behind them – but this new venture has already seen the group compared to indie favourites Catfish and the Bottlemen and Lower Than Atlantis. The combined experience of vocalist and rhythm guitarist Jack Hayes\, lead guitarist Sam O’Donnell\, bassist Arron Twinney and drummer Callum Gibbons make Wolfpeake one of the most exciting new bands of 2017. \nTheir first single\, Hennessy\, was released in September and is a perfect slice of indie-pop with a fist-pumping chorus and killer hooks which will lift the roof off Florence’s intimate gig venue. \nThree bands for a fiver – you can book tickets via the venue’s website (www.florenceartscentre.com) or on 01946 824946. \n
