SUMMARY:Bowness Bay Blues Festival
DESCRIPTION:BOWNESS BAY BLUES\, 7th to 9th APRIL\, 2017. \nBowness Bay Blues has built a reputation as ‘a flagship for the very best of British blues’ according to www.bluesinthenorthwest.com. Comments from visitors in March 2016 included ‘My new favourite blues fest. Fabulous weekend. I’ve booked our accommodation for next year’ and ‘A great weekend all round’. Many music fans travel to the event from far afield\, while those of us who live in South Lakes are so fortunate to have such an event right on our doorsteps! \nThe festival improves each year and The Rotary Club of Windermere\, who organise the festival\, are convinced that 2017 will be the best yet! \nNew for 2017 will see all three nights held in the Wheelhouse where on Friday night we have double headliners of Australian born blues/rock guitarist Geoff Achison with his UK Souldiggers and a red hot and rocking 6-piece band from Preston\, The Stumble. \n \nThe Saturday headliner\, will be LaVendore Rogue who have a unique blend of in-your-face\, bourbon-soaked roots and rock ‘n’ roll. Finally\, on Sunday\, the last act to have the Wheelhouse crowd dancing and stamping their feet are the 1950 swing and rock’n’roll band; The Revolutionaries. \nWe have many other bands over the weekend including Dean Newton\, Big Joe Bone\, Benjamin Bassford\, Robin Bibi\, Catfish\, South Quay\, Troy Redfern\, Scarlett\, Dean Newton\, Troubador\, Setting Suns and Ash Wilson Band. We are also pleased to welcome 3 local performers – Elderly Brothers\, Evie Plumb and Changing Rooms. \nThe main festival\, in Bowness\, will take place at Lake District Boat Club\, Hole in’t Wall\, The Quayside and the Wheelhouse\, both at The Ship Inn\, The Hydro Hotel and Beresford’s Restaurant. \n \nThe 2017 festival will also include a Blues Cruise of Lake Windermere on Saturday 8 April from 18.30 to 20.30 \nFinally\, the 2017 festival will again feature a free Fringe Festival in Windermere\, with live music in four venues\, Grey Walls\, The Lamplighter\, The Elleray and The Brookside. \nHeld the weekend before Easter\, Bowness Bay Blues is a ‘feel-good event’ in more ways than one. Local shops and restaurants benefit from increased trade; local residents get access to top quality music and the festival raises several thousand pounds for local charities. The headline charities for 2017 are Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue and North West Blood Bikes Lancashire and Lakes. \nTickets are on sale via the Brewery Arts Centre\, Kendal: \nhttps://www.breweryarts.co.uk/ and also at Trybooking  https://www.trybooking.com/    \nA range of tickets are available. Weekend tickets are fantastic value at £55 (a saving of £25 on separately bought tickets) as well as day tickets for each of the three days. The Blues Cruise is a stand alone event at £25.\, visit :http://www.bownessbayblues.co.uk for full details \n
