SUMMARY:Anna Cooper Sings in The Green Room
DESCRIPTION:Cumbria-born mezzo-soprano Anna Cooper will be performing at The Rosehill Theatre\, for an evening of food and music that promises a treat for the ears as well as the taste buds. \nTuck into a delicious two-course summer supper while you are entertained and enchanted by Anna’s performance in The Green Room restaurant. \nHer programme on the day is set to feature many operatic favourites and much-loved classical pieces\, including Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro\, all delivered in Anna’s own engaging\, theatrical and even frivolous style. \nAnna studied for her undergraduate degree at the Royal Northern College of Music before going on to study her Master’s degree at the Royal College of Music\, supported by a scholarship from the Soiree D’Or Committee\, Sir Richard Stapley Educational Trust\, Yorkshire Ladies Council of Education and the Josephine Baker Trust. She is delighted to have been given a place on the opera course at the RCM International Opera School in September\, for which only six candidates were successful. \nAnna Cooper considers Rosehill to be a truly unique and special place and is delighted to be supported as a ‘rising star’ over the next two years. She is looking forward to performing in the footsteps of many incredible artists\, including Benjamin Britten\, Peter Pears\, Amanda Roocroft\, Nicky Spence\, George Solti and Elizabeth Schwarzkopf. \nShe will be joined on the day by Liam Crangle\, with whom she has performed on numerous occasions over the past two years. Liam won first prize in the preliminary round and finals at the Brooks-van der Pump English Song Competition at the Royal College of Music in winter 2018 and accompanied the 2017 winner\, as well as being a finalist in the 2016 Maureen Lehane Vocal Awards. He has just completed a Master’s degree in piano accompaniment at RCM. \nTickets cost £35 (including supper).
