The champagne laden competition took place on October 5 at the glamorous Hilton Hotel on London’s Park Lane.

The competition is run by the leading pub trade magazine the Publican’s Morning Advertiser. It is seen by many publicans as the competition to win. The stand-out event for pub operators attracts hundreds of entries from across the country.
The editor of the Publican’s Morning Advertiser, Ed Bedington, said: “Pubs are an integral part of British society, enjoying a special place in the hearts of consumers.”
This isn’t the first time The White Mare have seen silverware this year. As Back in May they were also named the Best Pub in Cumbria at the National Pub and Bar Awards.
Following that earlier win Dianne said: “I am absolutely delighted for my staff and the village of Beckermet that we have been recognised in this way. I would never have dared to dream that we would have been so successful in just one year.
